Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Recka took in the apartment and thought it wasn't bad and then she noticed the pictures and there was an anger that spiked in her. Luckily she clamped it down before anything happened, but it did not fully go away. The energy in this house was enough to make her sick. It was like walking on egg shells mixed with glass. Masking her expression, Recka hid her true emotions and looked neutral as Rory called to her mother.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*The sun was high and the weather was perfect as the white haired fae sunned herself in the middle of Central Park. To any passer by the fae would no draw attention as she lay beside the still hunt statue. Not to mention her all too snug bikini top and cut off shorts drew quite the attention.*

Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*A woman appeared at the pony wall, tea kettle still in hand. She was small, much like Rory, with the same cheek bones and eye shape as her too. She even had the same hair except this woman's was longer, reaching her shoulders in a dark cascade. She was pretty, in fact she would have been beautiful if her nose wasn't crooked, terribly crooked, the kind of crooked that comes from having it set wrong or set too many times. A small scar in her eyebrow was the next thing to notice, a small skip in the line, and then Recka noticed her eyes, which were almost completely taken over by her pupils. The woman smiled softly, wobbling slightly on her feet as she leaned against the pony wall for support* Rory! What luck! You will never believe who is here. I thought you were at the hospital or I would have called. Who's this? *The words wobbled in the air like the woman did on her feet*
*Rory sighed softly as she saw her mother safe and sound in the kitchen then let out another sigh as she realized she was blotto again* I'm just picking up some clean clothes and my charger, no one has my phone so it almost died. We gotta get back soon though, Brit's mom needs someone to watch the baby *The lies fell off her lips with such ease, if Recka hadn't known better she would have thought they were true* This is Sarah. She needed a break from the hospital. Who's here? *She kicked of her shoes and started in towards the hallway next to the kitchen, glancing around for anyone that might be around or a threat without making it too obvious*

Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*A very deep chuckle entered the room right before he did. Another asian entered the room, this one male, taller, and with the confidence of a god* Rory-chan, I was afraid I wouldn't see you *Hiroshi gave them both a cocky grin* Must be fate you came home just now *He smirked looking the young woman up and down* //My little niece turned into a boy, I told Tengoku he needed to dress you better// *The man eyed Recka suspiciously before he chuckled again, shaking his head* //And Tengoku ends with a lesbian and a bitchy old woman, fantastic//*The man turned toward Rory's mom* Ayame-chan is the tea ready? *Rory's mom gave him a quick "almost" before disappearing back into the kitchen*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Recka took in every detail of Rory's mother. Knowing all that she did, some part of Recka wanted not only to weep, but also beat the shit out of whoever did that to her. Recka gave a small bob of her head and gave a smile.* It's nice to meet you. *When the Asian male entered the room and began to speak Japanese, Recka understood every word he spoke. A weird sensation bubbled under the surface but Recka didn't know what it was. She wondered for a moment if it was best to play dumb.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Rory raised an eyebrow at HIroshi, blinking a couple of times before smiling some* HIroshi Ojisan *She said the second word as if it was part of his name and not a title as it should have been said. It was hard to say if she knew it was a title instead of just part of his name* Its really been a long time, since Dad's funeral. *She watched her mother disappear into the kitchen* What did you do to Mom? I felt it clear across the city *She whispered softly so the woman in the kitchen wouldn't hear*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
Yes it has *Hiroshi said quietly, voice showing a little remorse at that* I speak with Ayame-chan once in a while but I was under the impression it would be a bad idea for me to come over *He gave his "niece" a knowing look and her question his eyebrows came together some* I touched your wards, your Grandmother needs to teach you better *At the confusion that filled Rory's eyes he sighed, rubbing between his eyebrows* //Of course the old bitch hasn't taught you properly, why would I expect something so silly// *He shook his head before waving his hand away* She's fine. I needed to speak with you. *He blinked, eyebrows scrunching again as he noticed something about Rory. He caught her chin and roughly pulled her head to the side* //Are you fucking serious?// *He growled out before made a gesture fast gesture in the air and then slapped the mark on Rory's neck hard. In the apartment Jiro felt a stab of pain through the link* //Are you damned blood doll?// *He asked her, fury keeping him from speaking in English*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Recka stood back listening to them. She looked around the room to the walls to the floor anywhere to entertain her brain. At Hiroshi's first comment in Japanese a small snort of amusement escaped her before she could stop it. However at the smack she started for Hiroshi to defend her friend.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Jiro shot up from a dead sleep with a start as if slapped.* Rory? *was the first word from his lips. He didn't sense fear but he did know that she was not where she and Recka was supposed to be. With a groan of frustration, Jiro got off the couch and headed for the door. He tried to fell if he could get their location before going to Recka's grandmas.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
I don't have wards *Rory replied softly, confusion plain on her face. When he said he needed to talk to her she brushed the mark on her neck bringing his attention to it* What do you need from me? *The teen tensed up when he had grabbed her and she grabbed his wrist before gritting her teeth hard when he smacked the mark, well trained not to cry out in this place* Fucking shit *She bit out as quietly as she could, twisting his arm hard to pull it off her chin* That fucking hurt *She hissed out, pushing him back. Jiro could feel her, it was murky as to her exact location due to her wards on the house but he could feel the bond between them strong*
Everything okay? *Rory's mom asked from the kitchen* I am going to make snacks too so give me just a minute *She gave them in a sing song voice*
Everything okay? *Rory's mom asked from the kitchen* I am going to make snacks too so give me just a minute *She gave them in a sing song voice*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Hiroshi gave her a stern look* //Back up little witch// *Even if she wouldn't have spoken Japanese the meaning would have been clear. When Rory twisted his arm he released her, moving so his arm was out of her grip as he had years of martial arts training compared to the beginner* Ayame-chan we are going to step outside for a moment but snacks sound great *He answered the other woman in a soft charming tone, despite the obvious anger on his face. He pushed Rory and Recka out the door and shut it behind them before reaching up to "pluck" the string between Rory and Jiro again. The shockwave it sent through this time went to both sides, Rory let out a gasp of pain and fell to her good knee in shock. Jiro felt the same wash of pain she did and now that the were out of the wards he could pin point her exactly. He frowned deeply at what he saw and felt, glaring from one girl to the other* Do you also have pacts with demons? *He asked harshly. It was luck they were the only ones out on this floor at the moment*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Recka didn't fight too much as he pushed them out the door, but once it closest, she did let out quite a few insults in Japanese a few from a much older form of Japanese dialect and one suggesting his looks were that of diseased oxen.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Jiro felt the wave of pain was over them and stamped down the reaction to it. Jiro was out of his door in one second and Kenjiro was standing in the hall with them in the next. His hands clasped behind his back standing like a stoic statue* It's not a pact, hunter. At least not the kind you are suggesting. *Hiroshi would get the feel that the form before him was human, but the one who spoke to him was not. The demonic aura was heavy and strong but much like deep dark water, you weren't sure what was truly below the surface.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Rory looked up, one eye closed in the pain still running through her system* That fucking hurt! *She snapped, not quite shouting. She stumbled to her feet again, bad leg twitching with the pain of the movement. When Jiro appeared and Hiroshi pointed the gun at him she was in front of Jiro, staring down the barrel with eyes lost in the stars* Don't *The word sounded clear and powerful. She was not afraid of the gun in her face or the demon at her back, especially not with the Seer in control*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*When Kenjiro appeared Hiroshi's weapon was already pointed at his head, finger on the trigger, for a human he moved extremely fast. The gun radiated something that Kenjiro couldn't quite put a finger on. It wasn't the same Tengoku magick that came from Rory or Noriko but something very similar. Kenjiro would understand that it was far more powerful against his kind then a normal weapon. He didn't even seem surprised that the demon had appeared. He completely ignored Recka's insults* //Why would I believe a demon?// *He glanced down at Rory then back up at Jiro when she stood between them* //You come when she calls and she attempts to defend you, still deny it?// *He pulled back his lips in a sneer* //She used to play outside while we splattered the brains of creatures like you across the walls// *The next words were meant for Rory despite the fact he kept his concentration completely on Kenjiro* Your father would be disappointed Aurora-chan, he taught you better than to deal in demons
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
//You wouldn't and It's a long story. You also do not seem the patient type.//*Kenjiro said not phased by the gun and he still did not move. //Do put the gun away. You would not make the shot and Rory would be stupid enough to throw herself in it's path.// * Kenjiro sighed and rolled his eyes. //Why do you hunters think it is intimidating to hear you kill demons, believe me when I say I have killed many more demons than you. It is not exactly a brotherhood.// *The demon smirked at Hiroshi's words. He spoke in English so that Rory would understand them too.* Hunters all like to preach about honor and disappointment. Honorably getting themselves killed and disappointingly leaving behind their families. Honor and disappointment mean nothing to those left behind. One could say he would be disappointed, leaving Rory and her mother to be beaten and tortured by a human. How that must sting.
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Rory continued to look at Hiroshi as the spoke in Japanese around her. She blinked, the stars disappearing at his comments. This close and with whatever the hunter had done to the link Jiro could feel the pain that bloomed in her chest as Hiroshi spoke of her father. The pain only deepened when Kenjiro added everything he did. She swallowed hard, wanting so much to cry but she blinked twice squashing the feelings she had about both sides. She swallowed again before she tried to speak* My father died in my arms when I was to small to understand what he was fighting or why his partner didn't come back*She said in a hoarse voice, emotions straining her vocal cords. She stood up straight, not looking into Hiroshi's eyes and back still to Kenjiro* My father taught me to protect me and mine at all costs. Jiro is helping me protect my best friend and in this case he needed sustenance to do that in the best way. I volunteered, against his will actually. You don't get to question my fucking choices. *Anger bloomed in the hole that the pain in her chest had formed* What did you want from me and put that fucking gun away if you aren't going to use it? You may have fucking Jeopardized everything we set up and it better be for a god damn good reason *She hissed out finally looking up into the asain's eyes*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
//You are more confident then you should be given the state you're in. How long has it been since you've eaten a soul? Even demons start to weaken without the right food// *Hiroshi's eyes flicked down to Rory and he finally pulled up but he did not put it away* I'm not your father Rory-chan I had no obligation to come pat you on the head *The voice he said it in was close to a snarl* And I won't stop you from being an idiot either. *He met her eyes* And you are being an idiot, one that will die just like her father if she isn't a lot more careful. *He finally put the gun away* I need you to draw me a picture of a vampyire, russian with blond hair and blue eyes. I need information on him. I was going to pay you in money but I am thinking *He flicked his eyes up at the demon and back at his "niece"* A proper gun and some lesson in using it against demons
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*With a shrug.* //I lose track of the time between forms, whose to say.// *He listened to Rory's words and felt a swell of something in him, but clamped it back down.* Seems to me she has more pride and honor that you hunter. Protects what's hers...so family only in name. Much like Demons, hunters have no brotherhood it seems. Take what they want and use their kin and cast them aside. What is the differences between humans and demons again? *Kensjiro asked quite curious.*
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
You're right, you're not my father *Rory said voice still hoarse. She listened to his request, eyebrows knitting together in confusion. When Kenjiro answered before she snapped* Shut up Kenjiro. *Apparently the anger was just at Hiroshi and when she was this pissed she tended to forget to be cautious of her surroundings. She grit her teeth, taking everything in. She stepped to the side of the men a little so she could look at Kenjiro instead of have her back to him* Please *She hissed out, realizing it was stupid to snap at the demon after it was already done. She looked at Hiroshi, anger still bright in her eyes* Let me get this right, we risked our fucking lives for a picture? Are you fucking serious?
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Hiroshi snorted* //How long before you eat the closest meal?// *He glanced at Rory and then at Recka. When Kenjiro went on he snorted again* I'm not related in anyway to Rory-chan, ask Noriko. I'm banished. I was doing my duty by staying away. *He rolled his eyes at their drama before looking at Rory as if she really was the stupidest person he had ever met. He rubbed between his eyebrows as he fought the urge to shoot her* //I can't believe that old bitch really told you nothing. THe fact you haven't been eaten until now is a miracle// *He grit his teeth and made a cutting motion at her with his hand* Draw the damn picture I haven't the time to teach you about your own lineage. Not that anyone else will.
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
Are you offering? *Kenjiro said with the slightest of a smirk.* //Seems that banishment title has loop holes to collect pretty pictures but no protect someone who calls us brother.// *With Rory's Please Kenjiro was gone. Jiro's brown eyes focused and he noticed the gun and raised his hand.* Rory...Please say the man with gun is a friend? *He spotted Recka and gave a small wave.* Recka, we don't owe him money do we?
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Recka who was somewhat frozen when the gun was produced. She did not know what to do and sure as shit was not a match for Hiroshi. When Jiro decided to show up and he waved at her, Recka pointed to the hunter* Hiroshi, brother not brother to Rory, banished demon hunter meet Kenjiro, *She pointed to him.* demon who really needs to come with a TLRD warning, both in a dick measuring contest. *Recka motioned between the two dudes.* Also apparently Rory's grand keeps family secrets. Rory severely pissed off at all of you. Was that a good Jdrama recap for ya Hiroshi?
Re: Somewhere In The Concrete Jungle
*Rory fought against the need to hit Hiroshi just like he fought the need to shoot her. She looked at Jiro when he joined instead of Kenjiro and she wanted to cry again. She swallowed hard to reign in her emotions. When Recka went through her recap Rory chuckled a little* It is Jiro not Kenjiro now. *She had felt the switch the moment it had happened, even if she hadn't been looking, just having Jiro at her back had a way of calming her down* I'll do whatever but then you have to leave my Mom and Jiro alone. I'll take the lessons or whatever, I'll give you my number. Give me a second *Rory looked between them all* Think you can behave for two minutes while I grab my art supplies? *She looked at Recka* Can you keep them from killing each other?
